EGC Turkey Shoot - November 2006

 

The club sponsored a Turkey Shoot on Sunday, November 19th. There were 8 shooters total, 4 of which were Junior Class. The NRA Light Rifle Format was used, and prizes ranging from a Turkey to Turkey Spam were handed out. The Course of Fire utilized NRA Light Rifle Rules.

NRA light rifle is a 3 position shoot (prone, kneeling, standing) using sporting .22 rifles. Rifles used cannot weigh over 8½ pounds, cannot have trigger pull of less than 2 pounds and may not use a sling. They may use any optical sight including scopes or electronic sights. Shooters are allowed 1½ minutes per shot and must use the same rifle for the entire event. We shot 60 rounds total at a distance of 50 feet. Shooting jackets, gloves and slings were not allowed.
